Squirrel-Proof Feeders

Brand new to blogging! I’ve been hearing about blogs for years, and finally decided to try it. Not so hard so far!

Last year I got laid off from my job (voluntarily, I might add) and was home for 4 months. I’ve heard a lot of people say that after a few months at home, they’re going crazy, but not me. I loved it.

We had a single seed bird feeder and a suet feeder in our yard. Being home, I started noticing that more than just sparrows visit them. Although we live in an industrial part of town, we also live next to a river. I saw birds I couldn’t identify. I started taking a picture of each different kind of bird. I also tried my first attempt at a webpage with all my bird photos. Loads slow, I know, but this gives you an idea of all the different birds we had that I never paid attention to.

Has anyone had good or bad experiences with squirrel-proof feeders? I’m creating a new page of various squirrel-proof bird feeders and tips and I plan to add pros/cons/reviews. Has anyone used the Droll Yankee line, either the flipper, whipper, tripper, whatever? Do they work well in the winter? How often do you have to change the batteries on the flipper?

Do you sign off on a blog? Hmm…have to figure all this out. I’ll assume yes for now,
